Officer's Court Martial Conviction overturned on appeal

Mr. Cassara recently represented an Army physician who was convicted at court-martial of drug use and sentenced to two years in prison. Mr. Cassara obtained evidence that the drug sample was likely tainted, and argued on appeal that his client's lawyer had been deficient in his representation. The Army Court of Criminal Appeals agreed, and reversed the doctor's conviction. This allows the officer to remain on active duty, recoup back pay and completely clear his name. While this case was hard fought on appeal, and took quite a while to work out, the end result is that justice was done and the client's name is cleared.
