No Charges Against Officer Suspected of Fraud

Mr. Cassara recently represented an Army Captain pending medical retirement. A month away from retiring he was flagged pending an investigation into BAH (housing allowance) fraud. The government alleged that he stole over $300,000 in housing allowances. Case went on for a couple of months when CID determined the allegation to be unfounded, and he will not be charged. This was only due to the hard work of interviewing witnesses and presenting evidence to CID that convinced them that there was no basis to the allegation. Not only will the officer not be charged but he will be allowed to medically retire.
